NANTES RACECOURSE
The racecourse in the city of Nantes in Western France first held racing in 1834. The course is situated near to the River Loire and has a circumference of 2068 metres with a run-in of 400 metres. Initially, as in many English venues, the track held racing for the landed gentry and it was not until 1875 that the public were allowed to enjoy the racing.
	The course holds four Listed races annually, the first being in June when the Grand Prix Anjou Bretagne, for 4 year olds and upwards, is contested over 1600 metres. A month later the Derby de L'Oust is run over 2400 metres for 3 year olds. The most recent 2014 renewal saw the Pierre Charles Boudet ridden Rio Tigre victorious when trained by Andre Fabre and owned by Godolphin.
Later in the year in October there are 2 further Listed races. The 2 year olds contest the Prix des Sablonnets over 1600 metres, whilst for 3 year olds and upwards there is the Grand Prix de Nantes over 2400 metres.
